‘I want them to suffer for what they’ve done, What would the Lord on high say? A true Christian tries to love everyone And Jesus was probably gay.’

Comedian and activist Margaret Cho in a song about Mormon support for California’s Proposition 8 that she performed, while accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, at a Nov. 22 rally at the state capitol in Sacramento. (YouTube via Queerty.com, Nov. 22)

“If the ban on marriage equality was unconstitutional in May, the ban will also be unconstitutional when the Supreme Court makes its decision in January.”

Incoming California State Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg (D-Sacramento) at the Nov. 22 rally at the state capitol against Proposition 8, the ballot measure approved by voters Nov. 4 to strip gay Californians of the right to marry. The state Supreme Court is now reviewing the amendment. (Associated Press, Nov. 22)

“I realized when Kelly and I were married it was in some part an act of civil disobedience as much as it was a love story. It’s not something new and I don’t think there’s anyone in the country that doesn’t know that I’m for gay marriage as I am probably the first gay famous person to get married in the nation.”

Rosie O’Donnell, who married her wife, Kelli Carpenter, in San Francisco in 2004. Those weddings were later overturned, leading to the lawsuits that ended with the California Supreme Court approving gay marriage. Proposition 8 overturned that decision. (AfterEllen.com, Nov. 23)

“I’m-a go on the record right now with this. Homosexuals are probably not gonna like this album. I don’t want your f**got money any goddamn way. I don’t like it [homosexuality]. Carry that s**t somewhere else.”

Detroit rapper Trick Trick in an interview with All Hip Hop magazine about his new album, “Villain,” which contains violent homophobic lyrics, including rhymes about murdering gay fathers. (AllHipHop.com, Nov. 11)

“Obama was called a terrorist, unpatriotic, and the entire time kept his cool, I so wish I was like that. I know who I am and my self worth that I really don’t give a f**k who or what a Trick Trick has to say. There is still a lot of hate against gays, and Trick Trick just perpetuates the hate.”

Los Angeles gay rapper Deadlee, responding to Trick Trick’s comments (AllHipHop.com, Nov. 13)

“Look, I don’t dispute that aliens exist, but there are more urgent matters to deal with, other than wrinkly creatures with a knack for anal probing. But enough about Barney Frank.”

Fox News’ “Red Eye” host Greg Gutfeld attacking gay U.S. Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) in a “Greg-alogue” video posted Nov. 18. (Media Matters, Nov. 18)

“On this World AIDS Day, we are all reminded that we must do more — as individuals, as communities and as a nation — to stop HIV/AIDS.  We must relieve the burden of HIV in African-American and Hispanic communities by reaching them with effective prevention programs. We must confront the complex issues that keep gay and bisexual men at risk. We must arm our youth with the knowledge, skills and confidence to prevent HIV throughout their lives.  Above all, we must not give up until this fight is won.”

Dr. Kevin Fenton, director of the CDC’s  National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD & TB Prevention  (Statement from the CDC on World AIDS Day, Dec. 1, issued Nov. 24)
