Brace yourself Dish readers. No, that’s not foreplay, but it is a foray into some sparkling and surprising news. BOY GEORGE is … not in jail … not doing community service instead of jail time … not avoiding jail … not doing anything connected to jail at all, but is preparing a concert tour.

What? Come again? That's correct. "Songs that Make You Dance and Cry" is a short British tour of small venues, the boy's first tour in 10 years, according to the Manchester Evening News.

"I'm not coming out to do a nostalgia show," he told the newspaper. "Nostalgia is a word which stinks of desperation. There are a lot of people who think I am desperate and they are very wrong."

Boy George says he's not doing it for the money, but apparently for the sheer joy of the experience. Dish doesn't want to sound cynical, but that just doesn't sound consistent with anything we've heard from the lips of a pop star in the past … well, 10 years.

"I have to accept that in the past couple of years, all people have heard of me are bad things," he says. "So I've got to show them I'm not some seedy road-sweeper, that actually I am a proper artist and songwriter and I've got a great voice. And I think I forgot that as well."

Boy George will be singing some old and new stuff, but claims it won't be all 20 year-old songs, unlike other '80s pop stars, whom he unfortunately doesn't name.

"I sometimes think I'm the only person who realizes that the '80s are over," he said.

Well, that's a bit surprising, but the shows sound like they just might be very good. Or at least worth seeing. Now, if only Dish had a sugar daddy to treat us right and take us to England for Valentine's Day.

WINNER OF THE FIRST CBS “Survivor”  season, RICHARD HATCH certainly knows how to bitch. The New York Post's Page Six reports that the gay ex-Army man, currently serving four years in jail for tax evasion, doesn't like it one bit.

"[He's] having such a hard time in prison," another "Survivor" winner Jenna Morasca said. "To be honest, I think he's starting to lose it. I don't think he'll make it, and he looks horrible."

My, my. Don't be on "Survivor" if you can help it. Those who follow in your footsteps will carry giant effigies of you to set afire while you're not exactly available for comment.

Dissing the poor man's looks. Darling, as a gay man, that's his currency, and you're flushing it down the toilet. Well, OK that's not true. Never was for Hatch. But he's still rich, right? Or did the courts take that, too?

IN OTHER GAY MUSIC BITS, SCISSOR SISTERS are working on a new album, according to Spinner magazine.

Frontgay JAKE SHEARS says the band's got a few new "really dancy" numbers.

"We've started out with a really cool cover, which I'm not even going to say what it is. I mean, no one would know anyway. It's a pretty obscure song," Shears says.

Great. No one loves obscure covers, except music snobs who can lord it over their "friends" annoyingly. Dish is not too pleased, but looking forward to the dancy numbers so we can break it down.

Gay singer-songwriter ARI GOLD won Overall Grand Prize and first place in the pop category at the U.S.A Songwriting Competition for the song 'Where the Music Takes You," according to a press release, naturally.
With a title like that, it couldn't have won best lyrics, could it?
