Best Overall Restaurant | Most Trendy | Best Outdoor Patio | Best Value

Readers’ Choice: Roxx
Editors’ Choice, Overall: Chow Baby
Editors’ Choice, Patio: Joe’s on Juniper
Editors’ Choice, Value: Pot N Pan
Editors’ Choice, Trendy: Element

In the set-yourself-apart world of fancy feasts in Atlanta, the down-to-Earth Roxx still came in as Most Trendy among readers, in addition to winning the most categories in this year's Best of Gay Atlanta reader survey. Readers emphatically said this comfort-food spot with generous portions, popular patio and bar ranked highest as the Best Outdoor Patio, Best Value and Best Overall Restaurant. Sounds like you know all about this place, or that you should drop in soon.

Second place in the Trendy category was a tie between One Midtown Kitchen, Two Urban Licks and TAP Gastropub. Third place went to Trois. Second and third places for Outdoor Patio went to Joe's On Juniper and Cowtippers, respectively. Voila and Joe's on Juniper tied for second as Best Overall Restaurant, and Radial Café took third. For Value, readers' second choice was Eats, and third choice was Radial.

Best Brunch

Best Brunch: Radial Café (Photo courtesy Radial)

Readers’ Choice: Radial Café
Editors’ Choice: Grandma Luke’s

Not only does this gay-owned establishment pack in an eclectic crowd with some of the best breakfasts in town, Radial also boasts just one of two restaurants in the state that is certified "green" for its environmentally friendly practices. From eggs and bacon to vegetarian and vegan fare, Radial not only comes first with SoVo readers, it wins with Mother Earth as well. Roxx came in second, and Ria's Bluebird took third.

Vegetarian/Organic Restaurant

Readers’ Choice: Cenci
Editors’ Choice: Radial Café

In just a few short months, Cenci has surpassed the trendy buzz that new restaurants generate to earn itself a meaty reputation as a smart — and tasty — vegan eatery. First, try the vegetarian egg rolls, then move on to Cenci’s real specialty, cruelty-free soul food. Both Flying Biscuit and Radial Café found favor with likeminded readers.

Best Dessert

Readers’ Choice: Matty Cakes
Editors’ Choice: Metrotainment Bakery

Matty Cakes is a popular Midtown stop for decadent goodies baked from scratch. With take out and pick-up orders for cakes, cupcakes, sandwiches, breakfast pastries, cookies and brownies, as well as special-occasion cakes including weddings, it's easy to see why this little bakery wowed readers as the number one choice for desserts for the second year in a row. Roxx settled into second place, and Cafe Intermezzo's dessert counter came in third.

Best Ethnic Cuisine

Readers’ Choice: Tamarind
Editors’ Choice: The King & I, La Plaka Taverna

With one of the most diverse Thai menus in town (and Atlanta's list of choices is long), Tamarind eases into the winner's circle with Southern Voice readers. Often listed among the finest overall restaurants in Atlanta, Tamarind's plate presentations and luxurious atmosphere make the artfully prepared food that much better. A four-way tie for second place includes Bhojanic, The King & I, Las Margaritas, Little Bangkok and No Mas! Cantina. Ru San's came in third.

Best Late Night

Best Late Night: Waffle House featuring waitress Jayme Steiger (Photo by Bo Shell)

Readers’ Choice: Waffle House
Editors’ Choice: Waffle House on Cheshire Bridge

With the demise of Dunk'nDine, the opening of Jungle (now country bar the Wild Mustang), and the continuing success of the Heretic in the same neighborhood, the already popular Waffle House on Cheshire Bridge Road easily became the go-to spot for late-night partiers. Sassy service, a menu of breakfast standards featuring carbs and fat to soak up all that alcohol, and an undeniably convenient location, SoVo readers belly up to this 24-hour spot most. Landmark Diner won second place honors, and Joe's On Juniper placed third.

Most Romantic

Readers’ Choice: Wahoo! A Decatur Grill
Editors’ Choice: Food Studio

Located next to a railroad track and a junkyard, you might not expect Wahoo! to immediately transport diners into a homey oasis that is more like eating in a friend's well-appointed garden on the patio, or an inviting living space in the dining room. Service is down-to-earth, and the menu is a carefree hodgepodge from salads to barbecue shrimp to tuna tartare, just to name a few wonderful delicacies. Apres Diem and Roxx tied for second, and third place also saw a tie between Bacchanalia and Feast.
